We are deeply honored to receive the 2026 American Hospital Association Dick Davidson NOVA Award in recognition of the Juvenile Justice Collaborative (JJC) — a community-driven program led by Lurie Children's in partnership with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and the Circuit Court of Cook County.

The JJC connects youth ages 12–18 who are first-time, non-violent offenders with the community-based services they need to move forward — from mental health support and mentoring to education, employment and basic needs. A recent evaluation found that 89% of participants had their charges dropped and reoffending odds were 44% lower compared to traditional approaches.

This recognition belongs to every partner, provider, and young person who has been part of this work. Together, we are proving what's possible when communities invest in young people
