We just wrapped up an incredible Breathe Now Couples Retreat in Golden, Colorado, and our hearts are so full! 💙

Four days in the mountains gave us the chance to slow down with yoga, meditation, and lots of fresh air. We shared stories, made new friends, and held space for what life after cancer really looks like.

Meet Brian 💙

Diagnosed with stage 3C non-small cell lung cancer at 38—just one month before the birth of his third daughter—Brian underwent six rounds of chemo and immunotherapy, followed by 30 rounds of radiation. After learning he was ineligible for surgery, he completed additional chemotherapy and continues working hard to manage his health.

Brian’s LifeList wish is a one-on-one trip to Disney World with his oldest daughter. From learning at home to keep him safe to stepping up to help take care of her baby sisters, she has taken on so much while he's been sick. He wants to give her his full attention, celebrate her, and create joyful memories together.

A massive thank you to CMI Media Group and Compas for inviting us to be part of the exclusive lineup at the 2026 event! We were so honored to bring the AYA perspective to the stage this year.

Our founder, Andrew McMahon, captivated the room with storytelling and an acoustic performance before joining our Director of Programs, Ambreen Maan, MSW, LSW, and board member, Anastasia Hardin, for a powerful panel discussion: What Patients Want and Need from Life Sciences.

Together, they shared their lived experiences as cancer patients and survivors—highlighting the unique hurdles young adults face and how life sciences organizations can better align with real patient needs.
