Park Hebrew

Park Hebrew Welcome to Park Hebrew, an exciting and innovative Jewish educational program that takes place on Sundays for children ages 5-12!

A Project of Chabad Lincoln Park We have a particular focus on educating children through the use of fine and performing arts including puppetry, drama, music, cooking, workshops, science, games, apps and more – Making Jewish learning and living come to life. Park Hebrew is a warm, all-encompassing, non-judgmental environment; welcoming Jewish families from all backgrounds. We acknowledge and resp

ect the diversity of our children; while emphasizing Jewish values of family, community, compassion, joy, tradition and rituals. At Park Hebrew, our goal is simple: We want our students to view Judaism in an intelligent, relevant and upbeat light. By year's end, along with the Aleph- Bais, Holiday learning and Hebrew literacy, your child will have developed a deep love and appreciation for their precious heritage, imbuing their every day with a sense of pride and purpose. No synagogue membership is required to be part of Park Hebrew. We welcome you to our school community and invite you to join us for our extensive array of programming.

First in person meet up for JUDA since March was a total hit! Families sat on their picnic blankets and sang Shabbat songs while enjoying a taste of grape juice and Challah. Andy Head; The Wonderful Wacky Juggler performed his tricks including riding around blindfolded on his unicycle. The highlight was definitely cooling off with a shaved ice cone at the Kona Ice Truck. Just check out those huge smiles and see for yourself. Finally, we ended off with singing "Hinei Ma Tov" - how beautiful it is when we all come together especially when it is to celebrate our Jewish heritage. This is how fun, safe social distancing is done! Look out for more outdoor, social distance style events coming up. Photo credits: Shaina Benhiyoun Shaina Benhiyoun SB Photo

Today is Lag Ba'omer, a day of jewish pride and celebration.
We celebrate this day to commemorate: 1. The life - passing of the great mystical sage, Rabbi Simon Bar Yochai
2. The cessation of a plague that killed many of Rabbi Akiva's students. Since we can't celebrate together this year, Here are some things you can do today:
*Dance around a bonfire (Don't forget the s'mores!)
*Celebrate in the great outdoors
*Join the virtual Jewish pride parade happening today at 4:30pm

Happy Lag Ba'omer!
