The Demands.

How are we doing this morning, MLGCC Family? As we recover from the smoke, dust, and emotional haze of 's death, we must now think about how we incorporate civil rights & equity into our neighborhoods & cities. The riots which followed the death of Floyd in was the accumulation of decades-long police brutality that went unheard.

That is no longer the case. We're heard.

We now have the eyes & ears of the world focused on our neglected communities. It is up to us, those living and breathing in these neighborhoods, to demand justice. We cannot just settle with being a keyboard warrior, make a couple of hashtags & go back to complacency.

No.

If we, as black men, want to walk down the street without the eyes of suspicion cast down on us, we must call it out.

If we want the police to stop harassing us without cause, We must call it out. That means going after the mayors, police chiefs, and state prosecutors who enable them.

This is only the beginning. We must not only be the light of the world but also guide others who maybe in similar situations.

Ask yourselves "how do you feel" throughout the day. Acknowledge your emotions. Yes, there are reasons to be angry. We should not let our anger dictate our rationale. Afterwards, think about how you can be a change agent in your community.
