A cat in Russia was reportedly used to smuggle drugs into a prison, with two homemade collars containing narcotics attached to its body. Thankfully, prison officers intercepted the animal, removed the collars and confirmed that the cat was unharmed.

While the circumstances may seem unusual, the welfare concern is serious. Animals should never be exploited or placed at risk for human activities they cannot understand or consent to.

Eighty-eight dogs were removed from a commercial working-dog establishment in Springs following a court-authorised SPCA operation. Inspectors alleged that dogs were found in unsafe conditions, with some suffering untreated health problems and injuries from collars and chains.

The case reminds us that every dog deserves proper care, protection and humane treatment.

💔 A Wound Too Terrible To Ignore!🐾❤️

When our partner, Sangkhlaburi Animal Sanctuary in Thailand, received reports of a dog with a horrific wound, their team searched for days. Twice, they went looking. Twice, she had disappeared.

But they refused to give up. ❤️

After knocking on doors and searching the community, they finally found Nueng, a beautiful dog living with an elderly woman who had devoted her life to caring for others. The woman loved Nueng dearly but had no idea that free veterinary treatment was available.

When the sanctuary team saw Nueng's wound, they knew she urgently needed help. Maggots had infested the damaged tissue, and she was suffering terribly.

The veterinary team carefully cleaned her wound, removed the maggots, and provided antibiotics and pain relief. Slowly, Nueng began to heal. 🩺🐶

Today, Nueng is recovering and has returned home to the woman who loves her and her twin sister who missed her. 💕

But this rescue was only possible because someone cared enough to make that first call—and because our partner was there to answer it.

She slept in her car because there was nowhere else. 💔🐾

Two abandoned kittens needed help, but Olfa had nowhere safe to put them and no money left for another emergency.

She is already caring for around 50 cats, seven dogs in boarding, and countless community animals. Her debts are growing, food supplies are running low, and veterinary bills continue to pile up.

In Zirakpur, India, Simranjeet Kaur cares for more than 70 stray dogs, along with cats and cows. She provides food, medicines, and veterinary care to animals who have nowhere else to turn.

But after covering essential needs, only ₹19,595 (around US$204) remains in her emergency fund, and another injured or sick animal could arrive at any moment.

One tiny puppy is already recovering with both hind legs bandaged. Others are depending on Simran for their next meal and medical care.

🐾Urgent help needed: please keep these cats fed and cared for🐾

Every day, vulnerable feral cats in Lanseria, South Africa, depend on Nina and Lanseria Ferals for food, care and protection.

Nina is currently in urgent need of R5,000–R7,000 to purchase dry food, wet food tins and sachets for the cats she feeds across multiple colonies.

These cats still need to eat every single day even when Nina is responding to injured animals and emergency rescues. ❤️

Cats like Lucky, rescued after being badly injured by a snare, and Huey, who survived horrific third-degree burns, show what compassion and consistent care can make possible.

But there are many more cats waiting for their next meal.

These gentle donkeys in Tanzania work hard carrying water and heavy loads for the communities that depend on them. But many face dehydration, painful wounds, hoof problems and exhaustion.

Animals First Aid is proud to support our new partner, Meru Animal Welfare Organization (MAWO), who are working directly in these communities to provide veterinary care, improve access to water and teach humane donkey welfare.

In 2025 alone, MAWO's mobile clinics reached 4,038 donkeys. Now, with your help, we want to reach even more.

🔥 She was set on fire🐾

Burns was deliberately set on fire and suffered horrific injuries. 💔

She survived the cruelty but her journey is far from over. Burns is still in hospital, receiving the treatment and care she desperately needs.

And there is hope. ❤️ A loving home in the Netherlands is waiting for her when she is strong enough to make the journey.

We are also standing with Nova, who arrived with a devastating fracture that left her bone exposed. Her leg had to be amputated—but today, she is recovering beautifully.
