COURTESY POST: although TAP shut down in 2022, a former supporter reached out about sending supplies to Cuba. Given the dire economic situation, if you are traveling to Cuba in the spring or summer and can help take supplies for the people or animals, please reach out.

TAP Animal Project is closing.

Due to pandemic concerns and travel restrictions, we have not been able to accomplish our mission and ceased accepting donations in 2020. We've considered many options to remain useful to the animals of Cuba, but see no way forward. Thus, we made a difficult decision and are winding down following the rules for 501(c)(3) organizations.

In honor of Les Inglis, TAP will distribute our assets to Humane Society International. Les was one of TAP's founder and he also founded and led HSI for many years.

Please know that we appreciate all of you who care so deeply for the animals. Animals around the world need our love and attention. Please, we hope that you will continue to support animals in your community and globally. Volunteer at a shelter. Foster with your local rescue groups. Donate to local and global organizations who assist animals in war zones, poverty-stricken areas, and in our own backyards, shelters, and pounds. Support spay-neuter programs, the crux of TAP's mission. And always, always... hug your pets.

Friends, you may have heard that the humanitarian situation in Cuba is dire right now. 6 hour blackouts and long lines for food every day, a covid spike (particularly in Matanzas) and scarce access to medicines. Large protests broke out throughout the country on Sunday and unrest is ongoing.

Please help if you can. Mandatory quarrentine upon arrival is required, but flights have resumed weekly from Canada. If you are traveling and can bring donations please get in touch. If you have medical supplies to donate, there are several places in Canada that are collecting them for hospitals and clinics. Please PM for address and more information.

Spaying/Neutering Cuba’s Dogs & Cats

TAP Animal Project supports dog and cat spay-neuter clinics in Cuba. We assist NGO groups like ANIPLANT, the only animal protection organization permitted by the Cuban government, but not supported by the government.
