Lincoln Park Community Services (LPCS) is comprehensive social service agency serving individuals facing homelessness and poverty. With facilities in Lincoln Park and Old Town neighborhoods in Chicago, LPCS has been providing shelter, wrap-around services, and other basic needs to our most vulnerable neighbors for over 37 years. Today, LPCS provides interim housing, meals, and a targeted array of social services to more than 450 people each year.

One of his goals this year was to become more involved in the community. Attending a networking event featuring various nonprofits in Chicago, he learned about LPCS and the impact that has been made over the years. LPCS had the privilege of welcoming a group of students from University of Michigan-Flint this past week! They spent the week volunteering at our 1521 N Sedgwick and 600 W Fullerton locations by preparing and serving lunches, organizing donations, assisting with Drop-In, leading classes, and beautifying the facility and neighborhood.

As part of an Alternative Summer Vacation program, students across all majors and grades are able to sign up to serve different communities. They then can take the knowledge they learned and apply it to their current and future communities.

Meet Emily, a member of our Associate Board!

She first learned about Lincoln Park Community Services through her involvement with Musically Fed. Afterwards, she chose to stay involved with LPCS and join the Associate Board. The opportunity to be part of a community of people who show up and make an impact on people's lives made it an easy decision.
