John Tejumade is a previous Adult Education student with us, working toward his GED.

John had to take a break from classes due to a medical issue. 

He started working with an organization called Healing Hands of Nebraska, where he is able to pay for his surgery through community service hours. 

John volunteered over 37 hours in our food pantry. Other volunteer hours from HACC contributed to the other 337.5 hours needed.

John was able to talk with other volunteers to share his story and talk about the Healing Hands program. 

We are happy we are able to support John receive the care he needs and also support our Food Pantry at the same time!

From ScaleLIT - We're always excited to engage member organizations through site visits. Recently, our Senior Manager of Community Engagement, Renuka Sharma, visited the Center to get more firsthand experience with the wonderful work they're doing alongside adult program participants.

Renuka wrote about the visit, "It was a wonderful meeting of the minds discussing how to best serve the adult learners needing digital literacy and citizenship support. Thank you, Moon, for delighting us with the good work being done at HACC in Rogers Park."
