During the nine-month program, Greencorps Chicago trainees earn Chicago minimum wage (currently $15). Greencorps Chicago trainees receive practical experience, professional development, and classroom & field training in a variety of environmentally-related jobs with skills that are easily transferable to other industries. Trainees are offered a number of professional certifications including Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER, OSHA 10-Hour Safety, Chicago Wilderness Prescription Burn Class, and the Illinois Pesticide license. Throughout the program, trainees are supported with wrap-around social services, a stable income, and assistance finding full time employment upon completion of the program.

The Emergency Heating Repair Program will start today, November 1st. Application packages will be available online here.

When an application is sent, it’s reviewed by a loan processor. If the application is missing documentation will be considered incomplete. Once the loan processor receives the missing documentation then it’s a complete application and the timeline would start. Then the application would take 48 to 72 hours before Department of Housing’s construction team contact the applicant to set up a sight visit at the property to access the work.

Thank you Block Club Chicago for including us! If you have plastic utensils please consider reducing your plastic usage and take on an action to help reduce plastics in our community.

Some of the plastic utensils collected at the farmers market will be given to A Just Harvest, a Rogers Park nonprofit that fights food insecurity.
