Wow… just wow! 💛🎶

What a beautiful way to close out the 10th anniversary of the Chopin in the City Festival.

The day began with the Quin Kirchner Group at Promusica Audio, where Chopin-inspired jazz felt adventurous, soulful, and alive in the moment. It was bold, expressive, and deeply felt — the kind of music that reminds you why live performance matters.

And then the grand finale… an all-out World Sound celebration featuring eight phenomenal musicians and singers, blending styles, cultures, and voices into one unforgettable experience. It was vibrant, powerful, and moving beyond words.

To sit in the audience was to witness extraordinary talent and to receive the gift of remarkable music. It touched the soul.

We are deeply grateful to have shared this milestone with you — our sponsors, donors, volunteers, partners, artists, and loyal audience. Thank you for walking this 10-year journey with us and for believing in our mission to bring you music, art, theater, film, and creative expression inspired by the timeless beauty of Chopin.

Our hearts are full. Our minds and spirits are nourished. And we are so proud that this anniversary celebration felt as special to you as it did to us.

Here’s to the next chapter. Thank you. 🥂❤️

The energy. The vibe. The pure joy of live music — it all took over the legendary Green Mill Jazz Club tonight! 🎷🔥

Three jam-packed sets featured Grazyna Auguscik’s incredibly versatile vocals and Jaroslaw Bester’s accordion absolutely on fire. It was electric. It was heartfelt. It was everything live jazz should be. ✨

The celebration isn’t over yet! 🎉✨
Tomorrow, Sunday, we celebrate the last day of the 10th Chopin in the City Festival with 2 different performances.

For the 1st performance, The Quin Kirchner Group marks the occasion with the release of Chopin Goes Jazz — a joyful collision of bold ideas and fearless improvisation. 🥁✨

A drummer, composer, and improviser with global reach, Quin has lit up stages from the Chicago Jazz Festival to Coachella, earning praise from NPR, DownBeat, and Pitchfork. His music is soulful, adventurous, and completely alive in the moment.

He’ll be joined by Chicago powerhouses:
🎹 Paul Bedal (piano)
🎻 Matt Ulery (bass)
🎷 Greg Ward (saxophone)

This performance is both a CD release celebration and a perfect way to mark 10 years of Chopin IN The City.

Stay tuned here, where we will share the 2nd performance and grand finale tomorrow.

Come celebrate with us — let’s send this milestone year off with energy, joy, and unforgettable music! 🎉🎵

Last night’s performances as part of the 10th Chopin in the City Festival were a beautiful reminder of how differently — and powerfully — music can move us.

At Epiphany Center for the Arts, Matt Ulery and his quartet (Katie Ernst, Matt Gold, and Jim Tashjian) delivered an intimate, heartfelt set with Sifting Stars. The music felt honest and unforced with folk sensitivities. There was a quiet depth to the performance. Nothing flashy for the sake of it — just thoughtful playing, strong connection between the musicians, and melodies that truly lingered after the last note.

Across town at PianoForte Chicago, Michal Drewnowski offered a completely different, yet equally moving experience. His interpretation of Chopin was sensitive and expressive, with moments of real drama balanced by tenderness. You could feel his deep understanding of the music — every phrase shaped with care, every pause meaningful. It was intimate, powerful, and deeply connected to Chopin’s Polish roots.

Two different styles. Two different spaces. One shared experience — music performed with sincerity and heart.

The 10th Chopin in the City Festival continues, and if last night was any indication, there’s still plenty of magic ahead. 🎶✨
