Through skill-building workshops, career exploration, industry visits, and hands-on training, our young people gain real exposure to different paths while building confidence and workplace readiness.

It’s not just about learning new skills. It’s about having the space to explore, expand what is possible, and begin shaping a path that reflects who they are and where they want to go.

The first two weeks in a new job are often the most challenging, filled with hidden hurdles that can get in the way of success, like a phone bill, lack of WiFi access, state ID fees, work shoes, or even a fresh haircut.

That’s why, in our Keeping Grounded summer immersive work program, we build in support from day one, making sure young people have what they need before their first paycheck arrives.

By removing some of these small, practical barriers, they can show up prepared, confident, and ready to succeed from day one.

Leadership grows through consistency, courage, and lasting relationships.

Thanks to the relationship-driven commitment of Philos Foundation, we’re proud to celebrate Tamariyanna as a recent recipient of a leadership award, recognizing years of growth and dedication. What began as participation has grown into mentorship. Today, Tamariyanna works in a youth development role with One For One Chicago, guiding and inspiring younger students by sharing her experiences and supporting their progress. By actively organizing activities and leading group discussions, she demonstrates the positive influence young leaders can have. Through sustained support and career exposure, she also secured employment with our community partner Wildman BT, gaining real-world experience in the event planning industry. In addition to her current roles, Tamariyanna has coordinated workshops across time zones and is recognized as a community leader.

We’re grateful for partners like Philos Foundation, whose commitment opens pathways like Tamariyanna’s.
