Most people dream of escaping the 9 to 5. They actually did it.

At just 35, Paulmathi and Vinod walked away from conventional careers, not to retire, but to protect nature.

Years of careful financial planning gave them the freedom to pursue a bigger purpose.

Today, through the Kanniyakumari Nature Foundation, they work with the Forest Department to restore degraded habitats inside the Kanyakumari Wildlife Sanctuary, one of South India's richest biodiversity landscapes.

From removing invasive plant species and documenting birds, butterflies, fungi and fish to publishing research and mobilising over 80 volunteers, they are helping forests thrive again.

Their NGO has also received the Green Champion Award from the Government for two consecutive years.

Their philosophy is simple: don't save just one species. Restore an entire habitat, and nature heals itself.
