✨ An Evening of Celebration, Art, and Sisterhood! ✨

Last week, the Montgomery County Maryland Chapter celebrated a beautiful milestone—our 33rd anniversary—while warmly welcoming four dynamic new members into our fold! Ladies from across the DMV joined us for an elegant evening dedicated to our rich history and a stunning display of the arts.

Because this induction coincided with our anniversary, we were deeply honored to have three of our active charter members in attendance: Ladies Dorothy Bush, Sandra Jenkins, and Erma Withers. Lady Dorothy Bush touched our hearts with a reflection on the past 33 years, which included reciting a moving poem by charter member and 5th National President, Lady Alethia Spraggins.

🎨 Artistic Expression on Full Display 🎶

Billboard recording artist Lady Chelsey Green filled the room with a beautiful musical selection, performing The Stylistics' classic “People Make the World Go Round” in honor of our newest members.

Honorary Member and author Lady Victoria Murray delivered a powerful welcome and toast, emphasizing the uniqueness of The Society, Incorporated and the vital importance of our ongoing work with youth in the arts.

We are filled with joy, excitement, and inspiration as we look forward to the future with our new members and continue to honor our chapter's incredible legacy🧡🤍.

The DMV Chapters enjoyed a spectacular evening at “The Society Night at Arena Stage” on March 1st. We watched the dynamic performance of Honorary Friend, Myles Frost, in Chez Joey. Almost 100 Ladies, guests and students came out to see this amazing production that is set in the 1940’s nightclub scene in Chicago. The production, singing and dancing (choreographed by Savion Glover) was captivating.

After the show, Myles was presented gifts from our 7th National President, Lady Julia Pollard and members of the Prince George’s County MD Chapter. Myles shared words of encouragement to our aspiring student artists in attendance.

Please check out Chez Joey which will be at Arena Stage through March 15th. Thank you to all that have supported this wonderful production🧡.
