Society Honorary Friend, Myles Frost, is a Montgomery County native and a graduate of Wootton High School in Rockville. This past weekend, we were thrilled to see Myles in Chez Joey at Arena Stage. Chez Joey will be running at Arena Stage through March 22nd (new extended date).

Myles won the 2022 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Michael Jackson in the Broadway production of MJ the Musical.

The DMV Chapters enjoyed a spectacular evening at “The Society Night at Arena Stage” on March 1st. We watched the dynamic performance of Honorary Friend, Myles Frost, in Chez Joey. Almost 100 Ladies, guests and students came out to see this amazing production that is set in the 1940’s nightclub scene in Chicago. The production, singing and dancing (choreographed by Savion Glover) was captivating.

After the show, Myles was presented gifts from our 7th National President, Lady Julia Pollard and members of the Prince George’s County MD Chapter. Myles shared words of encouragement to our aspiring student artists in attendance.

The Montgomery County Ladies ushered in the start of summer with a Game Night Social hosted by charter member, Lady Dorothy Bush and Lady Muriel Nolen. We enjoyed an evening of sisterly fellowship, fun games and lots of laughter. Cheers to a great summer.

This month, our June hostesses held “Swirl, Sip and Savor” event at Urban Winery in Silver Spring to kick off the summer season. We had the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful wine tasting and enjoy delicious bites.

We also had the opportunity to celebrate the chapter’s 32nd anniversary and recognize our charter members. Our three beautiful charter members shared wonderful stories about The Society and held moments of remembrance for our charter member, Lady Nadine King, who recently passed away.

We ended the evening celebrating our Ladies with June and July birthdays with birthday sashes and tiaras. Happy Birthday Ladies!

Thank you to our hostesses Ladies Anika Allard, Melva Meade, Stephanie Jameison, Dana Joi-Morgan and Sophia Robinson for a lovely meeting🧡.

Last month, The Society, Incorporated held its 20th National conference hosted by the Chicago chapter. This years theme was “Cultivating, Elevating and Empowering Children’s Artistry Through Sisterly Engagement” and it was evident from the youth talent performances, program awards and sisterly fellowship.

We are proud of our chapter members who played pivotal roles in this years conference. Special thanks to Lady Alethia Spraggins (Charter Member and 5th National President) and Lady Dorothy Bush (Charter Member) who have been instrumental in the development of the Society history book. They read excerpts from the history book and displayed the beautiful artwork created by members from various chapters around the country.

Thank you to the Chicago chapter for hosting a great conference and demonstrating the full beauty of the arts. We look forward to 2027 in Sarasota🧡.
