TWENTY-THIRD ANNUAL U.S.-CHINA TRADE CONFERENCE

“TRADE IN THE LANDSCAPE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND VOLATILE GEOPOLITICS”

We cordially invite you to our 23rd Annual U.S.-China Trade Conference, which will be held on Thursday and Friday, September 12 and 13 in Chicago. This timely premier event will feature over 20 executives from both the U.S. and Asia, who will discuss various issues in managing their businesses to stay competitive globally. The conference is also a special occasion to network with owners of closely held businesses, senior executives, and investors to learn from one another and discuss business opportunities.

As the world has become globalized, U.S. companies with a well-researched, well-planned, and well-executed global strategy have prospered. Recent concerns about regulatory inconsistencies, increasing labor costs, and strained U.S.-China relations have put many U.S. companies at the crossroad. Strategies need to be adjusted to anticipated changes. Networking with the right entrepreneurs and professionals is critical in understanding the dynamics of the process. This annual conference will explore and address those issues. At the same time, it will provide a platform to network. We sincerely look forward to seeing you in Chicago on September 12 and 13.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CONFERENCE

• Inaugurated in 2000, this annual event is the first and the longest-running, most timely, objective, comprehensive, and forward-looking business conference that focuses solely on U.S.-China-Asia trade and investment. All topics are well-researched with feedback from thousands of participants over the past 25 years.
• A unique occasion to meet, network, learn, share experiences, make friends, identify business and career opportunities.
• Over 80% of participants are business owners, presidents, CEOs, COOs, CFOs, executives with P&L responsibilities, or investors.
• Most sessions will be panel discussions and case studies. Speakers are primarily U.S. senior executives or owners of private companies who speak from their hearts and experience. Most have worked or lived overseas. They have been on the ground transacting cross-border business every day.

An Agenda and Registration Form are hereby attached. Please feel free to contact me directly at 312-368-9030 or [email protected] with any questions that you may have. Alternatively, you can always visit our website: www.usccc.org. We look forward to seeing you for another successful conference.

05/08/2024

It was a great pleasure to attend a dinner hosted by Mr. Tu Jianqing, Secretary General of Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Industry on April 20th in Shanghai with Don Hall, Vice President of USCCC and Chief Financial Officer of Zippo. Mr. Tu has been appointed as an Advisor to the U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce (“USCCC”). Previously, he was Chairman and General Manager of Shanghai Foreign Economic and Trade Investment Group, the largest sovereign fund in Shanghai that has investments in over 90 companies, and Chairman and General Manager of Shanghai International Sourcing Group. Mr. Tu was also a Member of the Shanghai People's Congress. We discussed how USCCC could work with Mr. Tu to foster a stronger and active relationship between USCCC and various districts in Shanghai, specifically, taking advantage of USCCC’s extensive network of over 6,000 SMEs to organize investment forums and matchmaking events in the U.S. and China. Subsequently, in the next day, we visited Hongqiao Business District government to discuss USCCC’s future location of operation in Shanghai. USCCC has been repositioned and is poised to actively promote business to business and people to people exchange between the U.S. and China and to help U.S. businesses understand the dynamics of selling to China. We are also grateful that Don Hall presented a limited edition of Zippo lighter to Mr. Tu on behalf of Zippo and USCCC. Other attendees included Mr. He Tao, President of Shanghai B&R Trading Company that focuses on bringing products into China; Ms. Zhenhui Yin, formerly Director of Information & Equipment, Shanghai Airport Construction, in charge of purchasing, design, and construction for Pudong Airport; and others.

I am pleased to visit Mr. Zhang Zhiguo, President of Asia International M&A Fund China in Shanghai on April 21. At my invitation, Mr. Zhang and his delegation visited the U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce in Chicago in January and March again and held in-depth discussions. The two sides reached a number of cooperation agreements to facilitate the flow of capital among companies and investors between the U.S. and Asia and accelerate deal flow in M&A. During my visit, we also met with Deer King, one of the world’s largest cashmere companies. USCCC is anxious to work with Asia International M&A Fund to jointly promote Asian enterprises to strategically integrate with the world market including brand building and strategic acquisitions, and access to the international capital market, and make informed and strategic investments.
