Thanks to Illinois AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) and Medicaid and Medicare, DeeDee is living a healthy life. She is one of thousands of Illinoisans living with HIV at risk of losing ADAP coverage, meaning she would not be able to afford necessary medications that keep her and her community healthy.

🚨There’s only TWO DAYS LEFT to take action – tell your IL state rep and senator to fund ADAP and HIV services: bit.ly/saveILadap or via the link in our bio!

To kick off Pride this year, we are joining the campaign – a national call to elevate health as a governing priority. Last year, Congress passed $1 trillion in healthcare cuts with the most severe human and economic impact happening later this year. The Trump administration’s proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget would dismantle our public health systems and social safety net, increase the number of new HIV diagnoses and homelessness, and devastate our communities.

We refuse to let power, bigotry, and hatred reverse decades of progress. Our voices are stronger together, and now is the time to fight back.

Check out this guide of Chicago-based events and be sure to join us on Friday, June 5th at the AIDS Garden for a candlelight vigil: https://www.aidschicago.org/seven-days-in-june-chicago-event-guide/

At AFC and our partner organizations Equality Illinois and TPAN, among others, Anthony brought his artists’ sensibility and boundless creativity to the work of advancing sexual health and centering q***r Black voices in the HIV movement and beyond. He was an anchor and an engine to our community and our cause. Thank you, Anthony, for everything. We will miss you and always remember you.

Now more than ever, we need you to take action to save Illinois' AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP)! Illinois ADAP ensures that Illinoisans living with HIV/AIDS have access to antiretroviral medications, which in turn prevent further HIV transmissions via viral suppression.

If the Illinois General Assembly does not increase funding for ADAP and HIV services, as many as 7,000 Illinoisans living with HIV/AIDS could lose access to lifesaving medicine in 2027! Funding ADAP will protect the health of all Illinoisans AND is the fiscally responsible choice.

We have until May 31 to make our voices heard: Tell the Illinois General Assembly to increase funding for ADAP and HIV services by $7.4 million.

Take action with the link in bio. Please share this call to action with your family, friends, and networks. And YES, you can submit as many times as you want!
