We are NOT fans of the delivery robots that have recently been clogging the sidewalks and parkways in our neighborhood. Now that Logan Square has banned them, it seems that Serve Robotics has targeted Smith Park. What do you think? Please share your opinions with us. Would you be willing to sign an anti-bot petition?

In the last few days there have been a rash of gang tags in the Smith Park Neighborhood. This has not been an issue in here for many years, so neighbors need to be proactive about getting tags removed quickly to discourage further vandalism. If you see dollar signs spray painted ANYWHERE, please contact the alderman's office immediately to expedite removal and to aid in reporting incidents of gang grafitti to CPD. If you see someone tagging, or have security camera footage, DO NOT engage with the perpetrators. Contact the Chicago police immediately with any photographic evidence. Together, our community can send the message to gangbangers that they and their criminal activity will not be tolerated.

SPNA would like to remind dog owners that there are no dogs allowed on the Smith Park tennis courts. In fact, all dogs must be leashed in the park at all times. We have received reports of up to eight dogs at a time running on the courts, mostly on the weekends.

Our park board worked for many years to raise money for the children's playground, walking paths, and the very expensive renovation of the tennis courts. Dog nails and street shoes damage this valuable asset in our park. SPNA will be working with the park director to post additional signage, and possibly discuss locking the courts during off hours.

Thanks to our many responsible dog owners for keeping your pets leashed in Smith Park. Please feel free to report any irresponsible dog activity in our tennis courts to the park office inside the Fieldhouse.
