At Yo Soy Ella, we honor by recognizing the women who shouted, organized, disrupted, and created the kind of “good trouble” that made many of the rights we have today possible.

And we also want to celebrate the women who are doing the work right now.🌺

Meet the class of women within our camp who are deeply committed to the wellbeing, safety, and liberation of other women. The ones showing up with passion, compassion, and a relentless belief that we all deserve to live free from harm.

Each year, our Domestic Violence Survivor event, “A Meal with My Sister,” with , .abeautifulproject and reminds us of the power of coming together.
Sharing a meal is more than food, it is intimacy, connection, and a sacred bond that strengthens survivors and our community. 💜

We’re excited to witness this annual gathering grow, bringing new faces of advocacy and survivorship, and reminding us how much healing happens when we sit together, share stories, and uplift one another.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Margarita of 💜🙌🏾🥺, for your unwavering commitment and your beautiful dedication to your sister Sylvia. This meal is an act of love, an honor to her life, and to the many lives taken far too soon by the heinous acts of domestic abuse.

My favorite organization in the world is celebrating 13 years! 💜

is a 501(c)(3) support group based in Chicago that uplifts women navigating mental health and domestic violence challenges. I had the honor of serving as their Vice President during my time in Chicago and even from afar, I continue to admire their powerful work.

Their latest initiative, “Curbside Compassion” - a mobile mental health and resource unit bringing trauma-informed care and community support directly to neighborhoods in Chicago and surrounding suburbs.

From mental health check-ins and domestic violence advocacy to healing circles and journaling stations, Curbside Compassion is showing up where it’s needed most. 🌸
