🍃Hierba Buena Study Group · MAY🌿 BURDOCK ROOT🍃

This month we’re in study with burdock root, a plant of deep nourishment, slow cleansing, and steady restoration.

Burdock works beneath the surface.
Supporting the blood, the skin, the systems that carry and release what the body no longer needs.

You’re invited to join us in a collective study , through story, observation, and shared knowledge.📖

Bring burdock if you have it, or simply come as you are.

✨Astro Chat circle with our Astro-psychologist Celine!✨Facing the shadows. 👤
This past Saturday we sat with the energy of the Scorpio full moon and everything it’s been pulling to the surface.

What came up in the circle:

🌌 old patterns resurfacing (even the ones we thought we moved through), emotional residue, frustration, and feeling “stuck” while craving change

🌌 the truth that healing isn’t linear, it’s cyclical, repetitive, and deeply human and the work of cutting energetic ties + facing what we’ve been avoiding

We also explored the bigger shifts unfolding right now:
✨ a collective transition out of old timelines and into something new
✨ Uranus in Gemini initiating a 7-year cycle of change in how we think, speak, and express
✨ the invitation to use our voice more authentically without over-perfection or self-censorship

If you missed it, the full conversation is available at the link in bio.🔗

🌿March Herbal Study Circle 🌿

Our next HIERBA BUENA study group explores the Allium family 🧅 (the onion plants many of us cook with every day.)

Examples include:

🍃Garlic.
🍃Onions.
🍃Leeks.
🍃Chives.
🍃Shallots.

These bulbs have been used across cultures for thousands of years for nourishment, protection, and healing.

In this study circle we’ll explore:

• the medicine of the onion family
• their cultural and folk uses
• the energetics of pungent, warming plants
• our collective memories of cooking and healing with them

Bring an Allium plant if you have one, or simply come with your curiosity. We will share information on garlic.

The kitchen has always been a pharmacy.🌿

🧠Monday Mental Health - Lunar Eclipse Edition 🌒

When the world feels like it’s unraveling through war, bombardment, crumbling systems, and chaos on every screen, the nervous system can only take so much.

In last month’s Astro Hour, our astro-psychologist Celine Khalife , MA, NCC, LPC, offered this reminder:

“Lock arms. Lock in.”

💫Find your communities of care.
💫Know you don’t have to do everything.
💫Focus on what is yours to do.

During times of disruption, overwhelm is inevitable, It’s a human response to collective stress. The antidote isn’t isolation, it’s connection, discernment, and tending to your capacity and courage.

Our monthly Astro Hour conversations are full of grounded, practical wisdom for navigating moments exactly like this one.

You can watch the full replay through the link in our bio, last month really gave so many gems and guidance on exactly what energy we are in and how we can move into aligned and refined action. Our March Astro Chat drops this weekend.

⚡️🏇The Year of the Fire Horse begins tomorrow as well as a solar eclipse! 💫
Our Astro Psychologist Celine Khalife breaks down the energy we are moving into - (You can catch the full conversation in the Linkstree tab in our bio!)

🐍Today is the final night of the Snake year (WOO HOO!) the last window to consciously complete what has already ended. Before we cross into the Fire Horse year tomorrow, We invite you to create a burial for that which you are ready to have completed and laid to rest.

GUIDANCE:

📝Take time to write about something you know is completed but you are still carrying it. Write for up to 9 minutes.

Below are the ways you can return what you released:

1. Earth Burial (Plant + Spring Renewal)
Place your paper at the bottom of a pot with soil covering it. Then place that pot outside your home (out of your immediate living space, out of your energetic field.)
In the spring, you may plant a seed directly into that soil and grow something from it. Let that bloom be a symbol, not of erasure, but of transformation.

2. Direct Burial in the Ground
If the earth is soft where you are, bury it directly in the soil. If the ground is frozen, place it in a small container outside your home and bury it when the ground thaws. either in early spring or autumn.

3. Fire + Return to Earth
Burn it safely.
You may:

Mix the ashes into soil or compost

Spread the ashes in moving water

Or bury the ashes in the earth

Fire transforms. Earth integrates.

4. Water Release
If you dissolve it in water, you may pour that water into soil, into a compost, or release it outdoors with intention.

Whatever method you choose, the key is this:
It must leave your immediate space.
It must be out of sight.
It must be returned.

Tonight is the closing of the Snake. Tomorrow, the Horse runs.

🌌FEBRUARY ASTRO HOUR! The Great Recalibration: Collapse, Commitment & Collective Rebuilding🌌

The structures we’ve had built upon us are crumbling. Let it. This month’s astro-chat with our astro-psychologist Celine Khalife we discuss

🔥 Neptune + Saturn entering Aries (TODAY)
🔥 The end of illusion and the beginning of action
🔥 Why collapse is part of healing
🔥 Rebuilding for the long haul
🔥 Discipline as devotion
🔥 And why radical faith is not delusion, it’s resistance

We are not here to do fast-burn revolution energy.

This is about the long haul work required for steady, enduring, devotional rebuilding.

We are in the space between the end of something and the birth of something else

And so we ask ourselves:
Will we spiral into despair?
Or will we practice the world we want , right now, within our bodies, in our homes, in our families, in our communities, in our purpose?

🌿FEBRUARY: Root Medicine: A Collective Root Study is our February Hierba Buena herbal study circle centered on roots as teachers of grounding, survival, memory, and nourishment.

We will focus on Ginger as well as invite us into shared learning. Participants are welcome to bring a root they feel connected to culturally, spiritually, medicinally, or through lived experience and we will study together through observation, story, and collective inquiry.

Please bring one root that feels familiar, meaningful, or curious to you.

This could be:
– garlic, turmeric, ginger
– burdock, dandelion, licorice
– yucca, cassava, ginger lily
– or a root connected to your ancestry or land

You’re invited to bring:
– a short story
– a lived experience
– a cultural or spiritual association
– or simply a question you hold about this root

Roots teach us how to:

🍃store and ground into strength

🍃anchor during uncertainty

🍃nourish the whole system quietly and steadily

🍃remember where we come from

You do not need to be an herbalist to participate.

📍Study group will be live via Zoom and recorded

🌿REMEDIOS: Community Medicine Making🌿

So grateful to have been able to host our first REMEDIOS: Community Medicine Making in Puerto Rico this month at which is an amazing art studio and community space led by the sister : . We discussed the tremendous medicinal virtues of raw organic honey, how to tell the difference between TRUE honey and imitation, because there is a lot of that!

We worked together with various herbs for immunity, protection and ease, both physically and spiritually. We shared stories and applications from our own family and experience and finished with a take home electuary for everyone. Words can’t explain the joy this brought! We carry so much beauty and medicine in every way!

Thank you to everyone who joined and thank you Yasmin for this honor to share remedios with the people 🌿🍯🌿.

🌿ALL THE HERBALISTS, YERBERX, + PLANT CREATRIX’S OF ANY LEVEL TO THE FRONT!🍃

We have some special learning tools and community offerings to share with you! 👇🏽

1) Hierba Buena Digital Journal for Herbal Study and practice: a digital workbook designed for those who want to deepen their herbal studies through observation, reflection, and practice. The workbook includes:

🍃Guided Materia Medica pages you complete yourself

🍃Herbal concepts and terminology

🍃Plant-centered prompts and botanical engagement practices

🍃Space for seasonal and personal reflections and more!

This is meant to be a living study companion, something you return to over time as your relationship with plants deepens.

2) Our “Hierba Buena” monthly herbal study group is back! This circle is rooted in collective learning and sharing on plants for the season, relationship with plants, and accessible herbal education! Members will be given worksheets, resources and engagement practices.

This winter, we are beginning with a plant that feels deeply aligned with this moment:

✨🌿✨Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) — our January study plant.

Motherwort is a classic threshold herb. She supports the heart and nervous system during times of responsibility, transition, and change, especially as we move through the astrological bridge between Capricorn and Aquarius. As old structures loosen and new visions begin to emerge, Motherwort offers steadiness, courage, and heart-centered clarity.

✨ January bonus

Anyone who purchases the Herbal Digital Workbook will receive a calendar invite for free access to our January 20th live herbal study circle, where we’ll explore Motherwort together in community. The gathering will be recorded for those who can’t attend live.
