Our event honors the life of Steve Walsh, who at 35 lost his courageous fight with EHE, a rare and aggressive sarcoma. In his memory, The Steve Walsh Jr EHE Foundation works to raise awareness, funds, and positive energy for The EHE Foundation — and every dollar raised goes directly to their vital work.

One of the greatest things about life is the people we meet as we pass through. We truly feel like Steve left us with the best of the best. This group, for three years now have gotten together in Steve’s memory not only to raise money for EHE- an ultra-rare sarcoma cancer, but they raise awareness, and together we keep Steve’s memory alive. BIG STEVE DAY keeps Steve’s memory alive. A day of golf, fun, games, laughing, singing, dancing, and a few Miller Lites.
This day could not go off every year without our own Holy Trinity here at the SW Foundation and that’s Rich Lewandowski (and all of Breaker Press), Dan Reilly, and Luke Mullaney. Steve would be so damn proud of you men.

Thank you to every single one of you for sticking with us. Every year this thing gets bigger and better and it is 100% because of this group of people. We love you all!

April is EHE Awareness Month.

Raising awareness of rare disease is vital. Less common cancers like EHE often don't receive the necessary level of attention like some of the more common diseases. Awareness campaigns help a great deal!

By raising awareness, we can build a supportive community for those affected by EHE, educate the public, & advocate for funding to develop innovative treatments and a cure.

Educating the public about rare diseases also helps reduce stigma, encourages earlier detection, and ensures that medical professionals are more aware of these conditions.

Early detection and more informed medical professionals could have meant a great deal to Steve's treatment, and our goal is to honor Steve's wishes and his memory by helping to aid The EHE Foundation in raising awareness and funds to fight this terrible disease.

We said that this year will mark big changes for Shakedown for Steve and Big Steve Day, and it is with great privilege that we announce the formation of The Steve Walsh Jr. Foundation for Cancer Research & Awareness. Our name is changing but our mission will always be the same: to fight this disease which has taken so much from all of us.

Under the stewardship of The EHE Foundation, our foundation will support important research aimed at discovering the causes of this devastating, aggressive disease and ultimately, finding treatments and a cure for the benefit of people diagnosed and living with EHE.

Join us this April to raise awareness by sharing this post, sharing our page, putting together a foursome for BIG STEVE DAY, and getting ready to PARTY with us in June!
