The Historical Bethany Union Church of Chicago On May 5, 1872, necessity made "denominations" a secondary consideration to the Worship of God and the care of His people. Bethany Union was born! Come and See!

On May 5, 1872, Bethany Union Church began with no denominational ties or strings; over 150 years later we maintain the same lineage of being nothing but a people of God devoted to His/Her Worship, Religious Education, and the Fellowship of Believers. There is room for everyone at Bethany Union Church and we guard each person's dignity. We are a mix of folks with multiple ethnic backgrounds, trad

itions, and religious affiliations. We set everything aside except Christ and we strive to love and be agents of peace and understanding. We welcome everyone and anyone who embraces peace and seeks understanding - both being understood and choosing to try and understand ourselves and others better. You can know what it is like to be in a place where understanding and acceptance are esteemed and where hope is ever-growing.

Monday Mandala

August is a lucky month for weddings in China, the United Kingdom, and Poland. It's also a popular summer wedding time here at Cantigny. To honor those getting married or celebrating anniversaries this month, this Monday mandala is for you.

The Snow White waterlily takes the center, floating above delicate umbels of Queen Anne's lace, which rest against the dark chocolate seedheads of curly dock beneath. Six Flower Carpet® White roses form the next outward layer, resting on Jack Frost Siberian bugloss leaves, with Helene von Stein lamb's ear tucked in nearby.

Individual flowers of the Royal Standard hosta, joined by more Queen Anne's lace, mark three points of a triangle, alternating with the dainty flower spikes of Ural false spirea. Finally, sterile florets of Big Ben panicle hydrangea drift outward in six loose clusters, like flurries — or confetti.
