Did you know that through the For The Love of Blue Scholarship Fundraiser, we have supported over 100 students and raised over $200,000 for Jackson State University (JSU) students attending and graduating from Jackson State University?

But did you know it is planned by JSU Alumni and focuses unashamedly on using our alumni highlight the talents and excellence instilled in us by our "Dear Ole College Home?"

This year we have the pleasure of having Mia Pettigrew, a recent JSU graduate, as our Mistress of Ceremonies. Mia Pettigrew is an award-winning Journalist and Meteorologist who Joined WANE 15 (Fort Wayne Indiana) in June of 2023.

Originally from Chicago, Mia graduated magna cm laude from Jackson State University in May 2023. She has a degree in Journalism & Media Studies with a minor in Meteorology.

While in school, Mia was very active on campus serving as head anchor and meteorologist for the campus news station, Miss Senior 2022-2023, Miss NAACP, amongst many other things. She was inducted into the JSU Student Hall of Fame for all she accomplished in her four-year tenure.

Mia is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, (Gamma Rho Chapter) as well as an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She still serves as a mentor for numerous students currently still enrolled at Jackson State University.

When Mia isn’t working to amplify the voices of Fort Wayne, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and trying new restaurants.

Please support Mia and Thee Chicago Alumni Chapter and this impactful event with a donation, ad, ticket, 50/50 Raffle or sponsorship.
