We are very excited to launch our newest resource: “Centering Our Values: A Hands-On Dementia Decision-Making Guide.”



Created specifically with African American caregivers in mind, this guidebook is a one-stop resource for you and your loved one with dementia. The online version (also available in PDF form to print) includes information and tools that follow the stages of dementia. Fill-out worksheets with your loved one to help guide you through the many difficult decisions involved in the dementia care journey. This work stems from collaborating with geriatricians, researchers, and design students at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

CNA Leadership Academy
Begins February 3, 2022 12p-1pm CST

Meets once a month for one-hour sessions

This ECHO-Chicago series provides training via Zoom to expand certified nursing assistants' knowledge and skills to better administer care within the skilled nursing facility setting. In our sessions, you'll gain skills through evidence- & case-based learning led by care experts from the University of Chicago.
CNAs will work on a quality improvement project over the course of the year, mentored by session leaders. Between ECHO sessions, CNAs will have frequent check-ins with additional content, opportunities to network, reminders/lessons learned, and motivational messaging. Participants will complete pre- and post-series surveys to assess for self-efficacy and geriatrics-specific practice behavior changes. Quality improvement project results will also be tracked. Training provided at no cost to participants and no travel. CNA’s that participate will receive a $250 visa gift card at the beginning and then a $750 visa gift card upon completion of the training sessions.
