We are proud to have planted the first public forest in Illinois four years ago with many local partners including the City of Markham, Cook County, local residents and schools.

Not only do trees provide health benefits, planting them helps connect residents with nature and with each other. Today the Cook County Markham Courthouse Tiny Forest is thriving and self-sufficient. Stay tuned for some pics!🐝🌳🌻

Communities across the U.S. are turning small plots of land into highly dense forests that grow quickly. Turns out these forests have roots to a decades-old planting method that originated in Japan.

Did you know that Markham is the “Prairie Capital of the Prairie State?” These protected lands, which include the are some of the original remnants of native Illinois grassland and are recognized as a National Landmark.

Had a nice visit at the Markham Paintbrush Prairie this afternoon and saw so many different species of birds (including a Baltimore Oriole!). Also had the chance to get a unique perspective of the prairie from the inside of a human-size birdhouse! TNC is working on some pretty great updates that will benefit Markham residents and beyond. Thank you for inviting us , We look forward to future collaboration

We planted over 320 native plants today as part of the Harvey Beautification and Community Empowerment Program! We are proud to have sponsored 36 butterfly gardens for the Harvey community with help from the National Academy of Medicine’s Climate Communities Network Seed Fund. Thank you to all the amazing volunteer planters and to Pamesha Robinson and the Harvey Neighborhood Network for partnering with us and welcoming us into your community.

Our C.E.O. Christine Diploma joined the Golub Capital Nonprofit Board Fellows Network National Symposium, hosted at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management last week.

This was the second-ever national gathering of the Golub Capital Board Fellows programs across the participating business schools. The symposium was designed to deepen the pool of impactful nonprofit board members while fostering collaboration between business schools to advance meaningful social impact. The convening included networking, peer learning, and collaborative discussion with constituents from across the country.

Nordson Green Earth has had the privilege to work with several fantastic Golub Fellows like William (pictured) over the last two years. They have been immensely helpful to us! Thank you to for supporting this amazing program!

We had an amazing turnout at Southland Green Drinks last week!

Nick Paarlberg from the Sand Ridge Nature Center gave a fun and interactive talk on the basics of birdwatching.

He was followed by our Chief Health and Engagement Officer Dr. Rao, who introduced the Markham Public Library Birdwatching Community Science Project—a chance for community members to use free apps .bird.id and and log the birds they see at the path. (Swipe through to see our flyer with all the details!)

We also heard about many other local environmental initiatives taking place especially the Harvey Beautification & Community Empowerment Program—a hands‑on initiative designed to uplift neighborhoods and strengthen community in shaping a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant Harvey. The initiative is led by the inspiring Ms. Pamesha Robinson, Coordinator of the Harvey Neighborhood Network.

Nordson Green Earth is proud to support Harvey through a native plant giveaway with seed funding provided by the National Academy of Medicine Climate Communities Network

Special thanks to our Advisory board member Dave Ward for planning this fantastic event and to our Intern Emma Zhu for throwing together an amazing flyer on short notice!
