Last week, JUF’s Annual Men’s Mission, Nachshon, traveled to Vienna and Israel for the trip’s 22nd anniversary. The trip began in Vienna, where we learned about the city’s special connection to the origins of Zionism and what Jewish life is like for the community today. Notably, we had the honor of meeting with Israel’s Ambassador to Austria, David Roet. A visit to the historic Gerstner confectionary salon and enjoying the city’s lauded culinary scene rounded out our time there. Swipe through to see some of the memories made, and stay tuned for details on our Israel experience.
1. The group in front of the Hofburg Palace, the former principal imperial palace of the Habsburg and where Adolf Hi**er announced the annexation of Austria.
2. Enjoying some of the great restaurants Vienna has to offer during a Dine-Around-Dinner.
3. Meeting with Israel’s Ambassador to Austria, David Roet. Among his many diplomatic posts, Ambassador Roet is the former Deputy Consul General to the Midwest.
4. Poignantly, we visited the Theodor Herzl Stiege (stairs) which is named after the founder of modern Zionism. Herzl live in Vienna for over 25 years.
5. Another great night out!
