Chicago Lions Youth and Community Rugby Youth Rugby in Chicago CLCA Youth and Community Programs offers both Rookie Rugby (touch) and Rugby Union (15 a side tackle).

Previously operating as Chicago Wapiti Rugby Football Club, we are now offering youth rugby programming as the Chicago Lions Youth and Community Programs. Rookie Rugby has sessions on Saturday mornings at the Lions for Hope Sports Complex. Rookie Rugby is a game with no tackles, no rucks, no mauls, no scrums, and no line-outs

The 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade tackle squads train twice weekly with weekend matches throughout Chicagoland. The goal of the Chicago Lions Youth and Community Rugby programs is to teach girls and boys the unique team spirit of rugby which stresses agility, camaraderie, courage, grace under pressure, respect, skill development, spatial awareness, and sportsmanship.
