Thanks to help from a lot of good folks and a huge contribution from we have a ton of toiletry/winter gear bags, coats, feminine hygiene products, and other supplies to hand out at the encampments today. Thanks for all the help! We still plan to buy a ton of propane for folks today to keep them warm during the brutal cold. Now, as much as ever, we could use any donations people are willing to give to support the cause!

Thanks to all of the efforts as of late from everyone who held events, raffles, or donated money or other items to the cause, we were able to distribute a car load of supplies, heating equipment, coats, hats, hand and toe warmers, and a ton of pizza to our friends experiencing homelessness. A lot of good vibes today and that's all thanks to the community showing they care. Thank you to everyone that helped make this possible. 💜

We are currently organizing to get back to making weekly runs to check on folks and get them what they need, especially through the winter. Let us know if you want to join the team and get out there with us!

Today officially marks one year since the start of the People's Pizza Party!

This project was inspired by the uprisings last summer against injustice and fascism. We wanted to be more involved in our communities and more active within the Black Lives Matter movement.

A year ago today Jeff and Adam posted about doing a big run of supplies to Brave Space Alliance and people came through with so many more donations than we were expecting. We were able to collect a huge van full of supplies to bring to them.

With the extra donations we were given the idea to bring food to encampments that had suffered a fire. Mike Popek offered discounted pizzas from Dante's Tavern and we did just that.

Adam and Jeff sat in the park after the first pizza run and decided to make this a weekly thing. Every week for an entire year, with help from the community and the donations that you all gave, we have been able to deliver hot pizzas and supplies to folks experiencing homelessness.

Since then we have developed friendships for life with folks in our community. We've been able to serve pizzas at protests and jail supports. We were able to get folks things like bus passes, heating supplies, tents, clothing, etc. We had an awesome Thanksgiving dinner with our friends. We've been able to provide support for/with Avondale Mutual Aid .We got many kisses from Lucy the dog.

This has been an amazing experience for us and we want to keep it going as long as we can.

That being said, after this week we're going to take this thing down to doing the pizza run once a month. Having a project like this mainly between just two people can be very stressful and we don't want to burn ourselves out. On top of that the donations are slowing down quite a bit and we don't want to promise things to folks that we can't bring.

We will continue to visit folks at least once per week and ask what they need. We will post more often about specific items that people can donate to help.

Next Sunday, August 25th we are having a celebration at Palmer Square Park. Come through! We also need to recruit more people to the team!

Let's continue the fight against capitalism, white supremacy and fascism! ❤
