CULT will be partnering with the Lumen Christi Institute to host a screening of the 2016 Martin Scorsese film Silence. An adaptation of the famous 1966 novel of the same name by Shusaku Endo, Silence is a brilliant examination of faith, suffering, and ethics within the context of 17th century Japanese Catholicism.
Dr. Bruce Winkelman will deliver an introduction to the film's historical context at 6:30 pm. The film screening will begin at 7 pm. Those interested in the novel should keep in mind that 10 free copies will be handed out to the first arrivals. Please RSVP here, so we can purchase enough food.
We hope to see you all there!
