As America celebrate its 250th Anniversary and the Indo-American Veterans Organization (IAVO) marks its 5th Anniversary, we are delighted to announce an expansion of our mission.

Over the past five years, IAVO has proudly honored the service and sacrifices of Indian-American veterans who have answered the call to serve our nation. As we look toward the future, we believe it is equally important to recognize and support those who are currently serving in the United States Military and carrying forward that proud legacy.

Our New Mission Statement

Dedicated to honoring Indian-American Veterans and service members who have proudly served, sacrificed, and are currently serving in the United States Military.

This milestone reflects the growth of our organization and our unwavering commitment to ensuring that every generation of Indian-American military service is recognized, celebrated, and remembered.

Together, we honor those who served yesterday, recognize those serving today, and inspire those who will serve tomorrow.

DAR Constitution Hall is an iconic venue that has witnessed generations of Presidents, Statesmen, and Distinguished Leaders, who have given their speeches at this historical venue to shape history and inspire their nation.

It is TRULY an honor .. and an opportunity of a life time, to be invited .. to speak in front of high profile Indian-Americans, Dignitaries and Patriots.

On behalf of the Indo-American Veterans Organization — Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸

“Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.”

On this day, we reflect on the words that helped define this nation:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Independence Day is more than celebration—it is remembrance, gratitude, and responsibility. A reminder that freedom was never free, and that it continues to be preserved through the service and sacrifice of generations of men and women in uniform.

As we gather with family and friends, enjoy fireworks and barbecues, let us also remember that patriotism is not reserved for one day a year. It is reflected in how we honor our flag, how we respect those who defended it, and how we give back to the nation that has given us so much.

A simple question for all of us today: How many of us are truly thankful—not just in words, but in action?

A donation, no matter the size, is a way to say “thank you”—to honor the privilege of living in the greatest country on Earth, where freedom, opportunity, and prosperity are made possible, and to preserve the legacy of those who served for future generations.

🇺🇸 🇮🇳 A Grateful Acknowledgment from the India in USA (Consulate General of India, Chicago)

The Indo-American Veterans Organization (IAVO) is deeply honored to share that Hon. Mr. Somnath Ghosh, Consul General of India in Chicago, has sent a letter of appreciation to Governor J.B. Pritzker, thanking him for proclaiming June 25th, 2026, as Indian-American Veterans Appreciation Day in the State of Illinois.

This thoughtful gesture reflects more than diplomatic courtesy—it recognizes the extraordinary service and sacrifice of Indian-Americans who have proudly worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces.

For me personally, this letter carries special meaning.

Since the founding of IAVO, Consul General Mr. Somnath Ghosh has been one of our strongest friend, supporter, and advocate.

Throughout his tenure in Chicago, he has consistently demonstrated genuine respect and appreciation for the men and women who have served in uniform.

His support comes from a place of deep understanding. Before assuming his current role as Consul General, he served as Head of the External Wing of India's Ministry of Defense (2019–2022), where he led international defense cooperation and strategic engagements with the United States and many of India's key global partners. Having worked closely on defense and security matters at the highest levels, he understands the values of military service, duty, sacrifice, and patriotism.

His continued encouragement of the Indo-American Veterans Organization has been invaluable, and we are sincerely grateful for his friendship and unwavering support.

The proclamation signed by Governor J.B. Pritzker and this letter from the Consulate General together represent something truly historic—a shared recognition from leaders in both Illinois and India honoring Indian-American veterans whose loyalty, courage, and sacrifice have strengthened the United States.

On behalf of the Indo-American Veterans Organization, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to:

By official proclamation, Governor J.B. Pritzker and the State of Illinois have designated June 25, 2026, as Indian-American Veterans Appreciation Day in Illinois, recognizing the service, sacrifice, and contributions of Indian-Americans who have proudly served in the United States Armed Forces.

On behalf of the Indo-American Veterans Organization (IAVO), my heart overflows with gratitude to the State of Illinois and Governor J.B. Pritzker for this profound honor. This recognition is more than a proclamation—it is a tribute to courage, loyalty, patriotism, and the unbreakable spirit of those who chose to defend a nation they proudly call home.

🎖️ To every Indian-American Veterans of the United States Armed Forces: Congratulations and THANK YOU.

State of Illinois (Governor JB Pritzker) Proclaims June 25th, 2026 as Indian-American Veterans Appreciation Day.

The Indo-American Veterans Organization is honored to announce that the State of Illinois, through an official Governor's Proclamation, has designated June 25th, 2026, as Indian-American Veterans Appreciation Day.

Indian-Americans have made tremendous contributions to the advancement of American society in fields such as technology, healthcare, education, engineering, business, law, public service, and countless other professions. Yet one important contribution is often overlooked—the dedicated service and sacrifice of Indian-Americans who have proudly served in the United States Armed Forces.

Recognizing this need for awareness and appreciation inspired the creation of the Indo-American Veterans Organization on Veterans Day, November 11, 2021. Since its founding, the organization has worked to honor, recognize, and preserve the legacy of Indian-American veterans while educating the public about their service and sacrifices.

This year holds special significance. As the United States prepares to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of American Independence, the Indo-American Veterans Organization is also proud to celebrate its 5th Anniversary of its organization. These milestones provide a unique opportunity to reflect on the countless contributions made by generations of Americans—including Indian-Americans who answered the call to serve our nation in uniform.

To commemorate these historic occasions, the Indo-American Veterans Organization will host its 2026 Charity Gala in November, bringing together veterans, military leaders, elected officials, community organizations, and supporters to celebrate America's 250th Birthday, recognize the service of Indian-American veterans, and mark the organization's fifth year of honoring their legacy.

The Governor's Proclamation serves as an important reminder that the contributions of Indian-Americans extend beyond every sector of American life and include honorable service in defense of our nation.

As we celebrate this recognition, we invite the public to join us in our mission to ensure that the stories, sacrifices, and achievements of Indian-American veterans are preserved and shared with future generations.

🇺🇸 Celebrating 250 Years of America & the 5th Year Anniversary ... creating a Legacy of Military Excellence. 🇮🇳

Friday (June 05th, 2026): In Celebration of America’s 250th Birthday, I’m proud to share that the Village of Streamwood launched its Home-Town Hero Program to honor Veterans who have served this country with dedication and sacrifice.

The Village received many nominations and submissions for this program, and I want to sincerely thank the Village and its Commission for selecting me as one of the Veterans to be honored with an official banner. I’m truly humbled and grateful to be included among such deserving individuals.

The Veteran banners are currently displayed along Irving Park Road (west of Barrington Road & east of Sutton Road – Route 59), arranged in alphabetical order. Each banner includes the Veteran’s picture, name, and an emblem representing their branch of service.

The 99% of the Banners includes one single emblem, whereas my banner uniquely displays TWO emblems, reflecting my service in both the United States Air Force and the United States Army.

These banners will remain on display through early November, after which they will be respectfully retired prior to the Veterans Day ceremony. On November 11th, the banners will be presented to each Veteran or their family as a keepsake of honor and remembrance.

Once again, thank you to the Village for this meaningful Banner recognition and for taking the time to honor the men and women who served.
