Lilies Of Hope

Lilies of Hope is a non for-profit organization with mission to help communities in need.

Our mission is not focused on a single community of people, or single walk of life. We help those in need by providing financial aid, economic development and hope. If you would like to join our cause please visit our website and become a member by donating $5.00, $10.00, or $20.00 a month.

Because of our incredible Lilies of Hope monthly donors, more than 80 students in Ustikolina and the surrounding villages will have something important waiting for them during the school day: a meal.

Many of these children walk several kilometers to get to school each day. For families facing unemployment and financial hardship, providing a daily school snack can be difficult. Yet having something to eat and drink during the school day can make such a difference for a child.

Thanks to your continued monthly support, Lilies of Hope was able to provide the school with a donation of food and supplies for student lunches, including sandwich ingredients, tea, sugar, Cedevita, sweets, and packaging supplies. Students will also receive a drink with their meal, such as juice or tea.

This donation was made possible because of you, our monthly donors.

Your consistent support allows us to respond when there is a need and provide practical help to children and families in our communities. What may seem like a simple sandwich is also a reminder to these children that someone is thinking of them and cares about their well-being.

Thank you for continuing to stand with Lilies of Hope and making moments like this possible.

No child should have to go hungry during the school day.

Every child deserves a school where they can learn, play, and stay warm.

For the children of Prača, even these simple things can’t be taken for granted.

A warm place to learn.
A gym they can use in the winter.
Lights that work.
A playground where they can play.
Computers and classrooms that give them the same opportunities as other children.

These are the voices of the students of the primary school in Prača, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the school at the heart of this year’s Lilies of Hope project. ❤️

Their school has stood through more than most. Originally established in 1958, it was destroyed during the war and rebuilt in 1996. Today, 41 students call it their school, but the building and its facilities are in urgent need of care and renewal.

On November 21, we will come together at the Harold Washington Library in Chicago for the Lilies of Hope Gala to help change that.

This is Prača.
This is our 2026 project.

For two high school-aged boys living in the rural hills of Prača, near Goražde, Bosnia, a bicycle means so much more than simply getting from one place to another.

Both boys are growing up under difficult circumstances—one lives with his elderly grandparents, while the other recently experienced the loss of a parent. Living far from populated areas, they depend on their bikes to get to school and to reach the places and people that are part of their everyday lives. Their old bikes were no longer functioning properly, so we wanted to make life just a little safer and easier for them.

Our partner in Bosnia, Munira, made the donation even more special. She asked the boys to do her a favor and help assemble two bicycles that had been donated to her center. They happily agreed, having no idea what she had planned. Once the bikes were put together, she surprised them with the news: the bikes they had just assembled were theirs to keep!

Moments like this are possible because of our incredible Lilies of Hope monthly donors. Your consistent support allows us to respond when needs arise and provide help that can make a meaningful difference in someone’s everyday life. Thank you donors for making this possible.❤️

The Huskić family lives in a village in the Donji Vakuf area, where every member of the household is struggling with serious health issues. The costs of medications and frequent doctor visits place an additional burden on the family, and they often struggle to afford even basic necessities.

Thanks to our generous Lilies of Hope monthly donors, we were able to provide the family with a package of essential food and hygiene supplies and cover their electricity bill for two months.
