Last Saturday, the Windy City Chapter came together in the most beautiful way for our “Diner En Pink & Blue” Black Family Day celebration! 💗🩵

Inspired by the elegance of Dîner En Blanc, our families showed up in style with stunning pink and blue tablescapes created by our amazing moms. From the music and dancing to the delicious Chicago-style food, the atmosphere was filled with love, laughter, culture, and connection.

Thank you to the Black Family Day committee and everyone who came out, decorated, danced, and helped make this event so special. Moments like these remind us of the beauty and strength of family and community. ✨

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a crucial time to spotlight mental wellness, reduce stigma, and provide support to the 1 in 5 Americans affected by mental health conditions.

Mental health is part of overall health. It’s just as important as physical health and should be treated with the same urgency. Stigma grows in silence. Open, honest conversations help create a more compassionate society.

You matter 💚 This month serves as a reminder to prioritize your own well-being while you support those around you. How will you practice self-care this month?

🚨There are still spots available! 🚨

The Windy City Chapter is honored to team up with the Chicago and Lakeshore Chapters and Chicagoland Associates—in partnership with the Jaden Sebastian Blake Foundation—for our annual blood drive.

There is no substitute for the kindness of a donor. Blood donation is a critical lifeline; every single contribution can save up to three lives, providing vital support for trauma patients, surgical teams, and those fighting cancer. Your donation is a simple act that makes a monumental difference.

How You Can Help:

🩸Donate Blood (April 25th): Join the Windy City and Chicago Chapters at the Community Blood Center (9920 S. Western Ave, Suites B & C, Chicago, IL 60643) from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. More details to come for the May 17th date hosted by Lakeshore Chapter & Chicagoland Associates.

🩸Donor Incentive: Everyone who registers to donate will be entered into a raffle for a $25 gift card!

🩸Teen Donors (16+): Teens are welcome to donate! Please note that 16-year-olds require parental permission, and all donor teens must have someone other than themselves drive them home after their appointment as a safety precaution (no exceptions).

Thank you for your heart and for helping us keep our community strong. We can’t wait to see you there!

Windy City Mother Member Crystal and Jack Pack Dad Franklin Reynolds’ son Dylan was born at 34 weeks, weighing just 3 lbs. 11 oz.

“In those first moments, nothing went the way we had hoped. Instead of bringing him home, he spent 24 long days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), fighting to grow stronger.

At first, he couldn’t even eat on his own. Every small step forward felt like a huge victory. Day by day, he began to gain weight and learn how to feed, showing us a strength we didn’t know was possible in someone so small.

After my emergency C-section, I could barely walk, let alone care for my son the way I wanted to. I felt helpless. I felt guilty that I couldn’t carry him to term. But Dad stepped in without hesitation, caring for Dylan and supporting both of us while Dylan continued to prove he was a true champion.

The NICU became our world. It was a place filled with fear, but also with incredible compassion. The care Dylan received while he fought to grow was critical for both of us. And it wasn’t just the medical care, it was the love in the smallest moments. I will never forget them putting a tiny Superman cape on him for Halloween. That simple gesture meant everything to us. Today, Halloween is his favorite holiday a reminder of just how far he’s come.

Slowly but surely, he got bigger. He got stronger. And one day, we were finally able to bring him home.

Today, Dylan is a healthy, thriving 8-year-old something that once felt so uncertain.

Programs like March of Dimes are not just important—they are life-changing. The support, advocacy, and care for moms and babies are the reason stories like ours have happy endings.
We are here today because of that support. And we are forever grateful.”

Consider donating to March of Dimes/March of Babies this April 💜 See the link in our bio to donate and stand with Windy City Chapter!
