We will see Tony at the Altman Family Fundraiser by EMWQ Widows & Children's Fund & Firewater Saloon on Sunday!

Tony’s journey on Chicago Fire is one of the most unique stories behind the scenes. A real-life firefighter from Squad 2, Battalion 7 in Chicago, he never originally set out to become part of the show in any major way.

When the series first began production, the creators reached out to the fire union to bring in real firefighters as extras. Tony ended up attending the fittings with a friend, but what set him apart was something simple - he was the only one there who knew how to properly drive a Squad truck, a skill not common across all battalions. That detail made all the difference, earning him a spot not only as an extra but also as a technical consultant.

Over time, Tony became a familiar face for fans. Even without formal acting experience, his presence on screen grew naturally, and he slowly earned more moments in front of the camera. His authenticity brought something special to the show that couldn’t be replicated.

Now retired from the Chicago Fire Department, Tony remains a beloved part of the series. Alongside Capp, played by Randy Flagler, he adds a light and humorous touch to the firehouse, giving fans some of the show’s most enjoyable and memorable moments.
