We are thrilled to welcome Olivia Zelling as our 2026 HiteHass Spring Equity Intern at Health & Medicine! 🎉
Olivia is a Master of Public Policy candidate at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, concurrently enrolled in the Graduate Program in Health Administration & Policy. She brings a strong focus on health care affordability and accessibility, along with experience in research, communications, and public affairs through roles with the University of Chicago Medicine, TexPIRG, Reservoir Communications Group, and the U.S. Department of State. She also serves as a 2025–2026 Staff Writer for the Chicago Policy Review, specializing in health policy analysis.
The HiteHass Equity Internship is generously supported by Drs. Marsie Hass and Scott Hite, who established this named internship to further the work of Health & Medicine co-founder Dr. Quentin Young and advance health equity. Rooted in classical rabbinic teachings, they believe social policy should provide additional protection for those who may be disadvantaged. As they share, “We believe that we must continue to do what we can to promote equity in both health and medicine.”
Health & Medicine’s paid internship program provides graduate students with meaningful, hands-on experience in health policy and public health practice, mentorship, and opportunities to grow their professional networks — all grounded in advancing health equity and eliminating structural inequities.
We are grateful to Drs. Hass and Hite for their leadership and generosity, and we are excited to have Olivia on the team this spring. Welcome, Olivia! 💙
