🟡Every SIX hours someone in Illinois ends their life. EVERY. SIX. HOURS.

🟡Su***de is the 11th LEADING cause of DEATH in IL.

🟡Almost 5x as many people in IL died by su***de in 2018 than in alcohol related motor accidents.

🟡Su***de is the 2nd leading cause of death in 25-34 yr. olds

🟡Su***de is the 3rd leading cause of death in 10-24 yr. olds

🟡Su***de is the 4th leading cause of death in 35-54 yr. olds

We can prevent this. KNOW THE SIGNS.... START THE CONVERSATION.

Good morning from Chicago on this beautiful Saturday morning and our 1st official Darkness into Light Chicago event.Thank's to everyone who came out this morning and supported this wonderful cause and looking forward to Bigger and Better things next year.

When we rise at 5.30am to see the sunrise in Chicago, over 200,000 people will have already walked from Darkness Into Light and shared ONE SUNRISE TOGETHER across the world.

It is because of stories like this that we have joined this movement in Chicago.
To live in a world where su***de, self-harm and stigma have been replaced by hope, self-care and acceptance.

We want Darkness Into Light to offer hope and bring us all together. We want to remember those we’ve lost, and to help people who are struggling with suicidal thoughts, or engaging in self-harm.

Together we can raise awareness, reduce stigma and be a part of something special.

This year, we can share one sunrise together, or take the Darkness Into Light Challenge.
