Two years ago today we () proved to Chicago that we could unite to march for demands that would better our community. While we’ve only seen a few of those demands, after two years of the march, it was time to regroup and focus on what’s next. Marching is important but there needs to be a black agenda and policies that we ask for.
Although we did not march this year, this fall we will be gearing up for next years Juneteenth where we will have a black agenda and city wide organizations who support. The comeback is the best part.
Juneteenth is today everyone. Let’s celebrate how far we’ve come and commemorate our ancestors who fought to get us here but let us never forget ALL the work that’s ahead.
Special shout-out to the home team who made these past two years happen. Looking forward to the future - see y’all soon.
