🚨 Urgent Call to Action 🚨

We’ve learned that a major restructuring of Health and Human Services is underway. While change is expected with any new administration, it’s concerning that this restructuring removes critical funding streams, programs, and agencies that support individuals in crisis on their path to independence.

✅ Investing in recovery works.

For every $1 spent on mental health and substance use disorder recovery, taxpayers save $4-$7 in healthcare, criminal justice, and lost productivity costs. It strengthens families, reduces healthcare strain, and builds a healthier, more engaged workforce.

📢 Take action!
Call your congressional members and cabinet officials and urge them to Invest in Recovery—because a healthy America starts with prioritizing mental health and substance use disorder recovery. 💙

Congress is deciding the future of addiction and mental health funding — and we need your voice.

Right now, funding that supports recovery services across the country is at risk. This includes the kinds of programs we lead at YPR: peer-led recovery support, youth outreach, access to naloxone and fentanyl test strips, and leadership opportunities for young people in recovery.

Cuts to this funding would directly impact the communities we serve.

We're joining our partners at Mobilize Recovery in urging Congress to:
- Protect existing funding for addiction and mental health recovery services
- Increase investments to meet the growing need
- Ensure no disruptions to SAMHSA grants during administrative changes
- Reject any proposed cuts in the FY26 budget

Take 2 minutes to contact your representatives and remind them: recovery saves lives, and it deserves full funding.

Investing in recovery is a proven economic and public health strategy that benefits us all. Every dollar spent on recovery saves taxpayers $4–$7 in healthcare, criminal justice, and lost productivity costs. It strengthens families, reduces healthcare strain, and builds a healthier, more engaged workforce.

Access to community-based self-help and mutual aid groups lowers rates of recurrence of use, boosts productivity, and empowers individuals to rebuild their lives. Dedicated government support for recovery isn’t just compassionate—it’s smart policy that drives economic growth and creates thriving communities.

Invest in recovery—it pays dividends.
