To all my coworkers, friends, and everyone who has been touched by the lives of our fallen colleagues, let’s come together and show our love, support, and respect. ❤️🙏

We have lost people who were more than just coworkers — they were part of our work family. Their lives mattered, their memories will live on, and they will never be forgotten. 💔🕊️

I’m asking everyone to please come out and join us for the balloon release in honor and remembrance of our fallen colleagues. Let’s stand together as one, support one another through this difficult time, and show their families that they are not alone in their grief.

Let’s be clear about what I’m trying to raise regarding ATU Local 241 and the Latino Caucus.

Local 241 is one of the largest locals in the ATU family. Like other locals, it has officers, executive board members, stewards, and rank-and-file members—and it also has caucuses intended to give members from different communities a voice.

This past weekend, the ATU Latino Caucus held its convention in New Orleans, bringing together Latino members from across the ATU. That’s an important opportunity for Latino members to participate, connect, and have their voices heard.

My question is: where were the rank-and-file Latino members of Local 241?

From what I understand, Local 241’s representation included officers, executive board members, and stewards. I’m not questioning whether those individuals are Latino or whether they have a right to participate. They absolutely do.

What I am questioning is why the Latino members who actually make up the rank-and-file membership of Local 241 don’t appear to have a meaningful role in these caucus activities.

If Local 241 has many Latino members, why aren’t more of those members being encouraged, included, and given the opportunity to represent their own community?

I’m glad that Local 241 has people participating in the Latino Caucus. That’s a positive thing. But a caucus should also be a place where the members it represents can participate—not something that feels controlled primarily by officers, executive board members, or stewards.

This isn’t about attacking anyone personally. It’s about asking for greater inclusion, transparency, and participation.

If the Latino Caucus is supposed to give Latino members a voice, then Latino rank-and-file members should have the opportunity to be part of that voice.

Local 241 talks about diversity and representation. I believe the next step is making sure that representation includes the members themselves.

So the question isn’t simply, “Who represented Local 241?”

The bigger question is: Why aren’t more of Local 241’s Latino rank-and-file members being included in representing their own local?

Let’s be honest about what’s happening in ATU Local 241.

We constantly hear about diversity and representation, but when it came time for the 2026 ATU Latino Caucus, where were the Latino rank-and-file members of Local 241?

Instead, a steward from the General Office represented Local 241.

That should raise some serious questions.

Where are the current Latino members of Local 241?
Why aren’t active Latino rank-and-file members representing our local?
Does Local 241 even have a current Latino caucus member who isn't retired and isn't an officer?

If the answer is no, then we need to ask why.

You cannot claim to represent a diverse membership while leaving active members from that community without a meaningful voice. Representation shouldn’t be something that exists only on paper, and it shouldn’t be limited to officers and retirees.

If Latino members work in Local 241 today, they deserve a seat at the table and the opportunity to speak for themselves.

This isn’t about attacking anyone personally. It’s about accountability, transparency, and whether Local 241 is actually living up to the diversity it talks about.

Look at the picture and ask yourself: Is this what representation of ATU 241’s Latino membership is supposed to look like?

Our members deserve more than symbolism. They deserve a real voice.
