ILDEO is the Illinois affiliate of the National Dance Education Organization and supports dance educators throughout the state of Illinois through professional learning opportunities, community engagement, and advocacy. Mission
The mission of ILDEO is to support and advance dance as an essential component of life-long learning that informs the human experience as a creative process, discipline, a
nd performing art in a variety of environments including, but not limited to, dance studios, K – 12 schools, colleges, universities, and community centers. Goals
To build a broad, collaborative membership of educators, dancers, choreographers, arts organizations, dance companies, and advocates from throughout out the state to create a diverse organization that provides opportunities for networking, advocacy, sharing knowledge, and communication. To support an Illinois dance community with a focus on dance as an integral part of education for the whole person and as a varied, transformative art form and cultural manifestation.
