Eighty-one years ago, N**i General Alfred Jodl signed Germany's unconditional surrender to the Allies, ending WWII in Europe. Five months later he would be on trial for his life, as accountability started in Nuremberg.

In Courtroom 600, the Allies established that individuals, not just nations, can be held accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity. It was peace pursued through the rule of law—and the birth of the international human rights movement.

The lessons of Nuremberg are needed more than ever in our world today.

VE Day, May 8, 1945, marked the end of World War II in Europe and a hard-fought victory for freedom.

As we reflect on those powerful moments, we are reminded how important it is to honor and preserve the legacy of the heroes who served. Their courage and sacrifice continue to inspire, and their stories must be carried forward for generations to come.

Excited to share that Courtroom 600 has been invited to present a teacher workshop at the The National WWII Museum's summer institute, which draws hundreds of educators from all 50 states.

Honored for the opportunity to tell my story at one of the country’s leading institutions dedicated to WWII history, and to continue expanding the reach of our new curriculum.

Chicago-area friends — I'm speaking in Highland Park on April 14th, and would love to see you there.

The 80th anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials is this year, and their lessons feel more urgent than ever.

I'll be sharing the behind-the-scenes story of how my father's hidden WWII memorabilia inspired the Courtroom 600 Education Project, alongside the parallel stories of two German Jewish boys who experienced the war and the Holocaust in vastly different ways. Both served at Nuremberg. One was my father's friend.

A selection of original Nuremberg documents and artifacts will be exhibited.

WHEN: Tuesday, April 14
TIME: 1–2:30 PM
WHERE: North Suburban Beth El, Highland Park, IL

This program is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

In 1943, Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin met in Tehran to coordinate the defeat of N**i Germany.

Today, the same city carries a very different geopolitical weight.

Looking to the past helps us better understand the complexity of international relationships, what’s at stake in the present—and how individual decisions shape the future.

80 years ago this week, Hermann Göring took the stand at Nuremberg. His words weren’t a defense, they were a warning: How easily people can be led to war.
