✨AWIH Spotlight: Our very own Secretary, Tayo, presented her research at UIC’s Symposium for her capstone. Her research was focused on studying the health determinants that cause breast cancer disparities between black and white women in the city of Chicago. She also did a narrative literature review and a case study for her capstone project. We love the focus and aspiration in learning more in order to do more for women. Way to go, Tayo! Keep aspiring 💓💜

Join AWIH-UIC and for a zoom panel! We will be hosting a Q&A session for students interested in careers in healthcare. Healthcare can be a hard field to navigate, so it can be really helpful to talk to peers who have gone through the same difficulties and learn from their experiences. Do you want to know about application processes? Or how to find shadowing opportunities? Come share your questions on Thursday at 7 pm! We hope to see you there!

Aspiring Ambassadors: Summer 2022

Our Ambassadors got together to discuss their experience this summer, Aspiring Women in Health, self-care, the ins and outs of relationships, and college life.

Lynda, Gozi, & Solange worked behind the scenes for the recruitment and establishment of the collegiate chapters at ISU, NIU, & LUC. It was an amazing opportunity to meet women of various backgrounds that all shared a similar vision. Thanks to them, Aspiring Women in Health has branched to reach more undergrad women in the Chicagoland area.

They have inspired over 40 women to become a part of AWIH. Through their aspirations, they’ve made it possible for other women to aspire… and inspire.

Happy Friday AWIH babes!

What better way to give back than to our community! Our amazing Community Service Director and Secretary, Sirena and Tayo attended this event. Our execs worked alongside Rich Township Food Pantry in Richton Park, IL.

They had the pleasure of packaging and distributing foods to over 100 people. Recipients were provided with bags filled with carrots, grapes, green beans, lettuce, and potatoes. As an organization that prides itself in the importance of health, we were pleased to have families take home nutritious food!
