Jones Memorial Community Center Incorporated in 1917, Jones Center has been an integral part of the community for 100 years.

Mission - As a non-denominational, non-sectarian, non-profit organization, Jones Center strengthens family ties, emphasizes the worth of God’s children (all people), and answers a human need. Jones Center traditionally serves a population of youth and family members from area low-income households of both Latino and African-American descent. Located in Chicago Heights, Jones Center is one of just a few service providers located in the heart of the community that is dedicated to improving the lives and academics of youth. Jones Center addresses the needs of families through Youth Programs, Family Services/Neighborhood Center, Emergency Services, Senior Programs, and Special Outreach Events. Last year, Jones Center had 214 registered students served 11,971 times, provided 17,750+ meals to out-of-school time participants, served 102 kids in its 9 week summer fun club, presented six $1,000 scholarships to seniors from area high schools, and shared 9 monthly fun-filled luncheons with area seniors.

Today, two of our Jones Center kids asked us to take their picture in front of our fireplace, beneath the portrait of Harold Colbert Jones, the young man in whose memory our Center was named.

What a beautiful reminder of how one family's generosity can create a lasting legacy that continues to touch the lives of children and families generations later.

The final part of our Back-to-School Festival was filled with awards, recognition, and a backpack giveaway to help our students get ready for a great school year.
We are so proud of everything our kids accomplished this summer and grateful to everyone who helped make it so special.
And today, we turn the page to our next chapter… the Jones Center After-School Program begins!
Summer may be over, but the fun, learning, encouragement, and opportunities at Jones Center continue all year long.

Community in Action! Our Back-to-School Festival would not have been the same without the incredible support of the City of Chicago Heights!

We were so grateful to have members of the Chicago Heights Fire Department, Chicago Heights Police Department, and cadets from the Law Enforcement Explorer Program volunteer their time and help make the day special for our children and families.

And they didn’t just come to help—they joined in the fun! From playing games with the kids to even taking a turn in the bounce house, they brought plenty of smiles, laughter, and positive energy to the day.

Moments like these mean so much. They give our young people an opportunity to interact with the men and women who serve their community in a fun, welcoming, and positive environment.
Thank you to the City of Chicago Heights, the Mayor's Office, our firefighters, police officers, and Law Enforcement Explorers for showing up, getting involved, and helping us create wonderful memories for our kids. We are grateful to have community partners who truly believe in being part of the community they serve.

WE’VE BEEN BUSY… AND WE’VE BEEN INSPIRED - One of the special moments from our Back-to-School Festival was starting the morning with some inspiring words from C.B. Kuzlik, Jones Center Board Member and founder of Let’s Roof and Let’s Pave.
C.B. took time to speak with our kids and families, sharing encouragement and helping us kick off a wonderful day of celebration, fun, and community. We are so grateful for the heart he brings to Jones Center and for the continued support of the entire Let’s Roof and Let’s Pave team.
As Impact Sponsors of our programs, Let’s Roof and Let’s Pave continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families we serve. Their partnership goes far beyond sponsorship, they show up, get involved, and believe in our mission.
We also want to congratulate C.B. and his team on their exciting move to their new offices in Lombard! We recently had the opportunity to visit C.B. at the new location, and we couldn’t be happier for them as they begin this next chapter.

We’ve Been Busy at Jones Center! It may have been a little quiet on our page lately, but things have definitely not been quiet at Jones Center!
We’ve been wrapping up an amazing summer, getting ready for the new school year, preparing for our After-School Program, training staff, connecting with our community, and making sure everything is ready to welcome our kids back.
We’re going to catch you up on some of the fun, hard work, and special moments happening behind the scenes and throughout our programs.
There is always something happening at Jones Center as we continue Providing a Doorway to Opportunity for the children and families we serve.
