7 days.
That's what stands between you and your ability to participate in what may be the most consequential Wyoming election since statehood.
May 13 is the last day to change your party affiliation before the August 18 primary. After that, the window closes. In person, at your county clerk's office, bring ID. That's it. That's all it takes.
Here's why it matters.
In the last Wyoming primary, roughly 27% of eligible voters showed up. That means the people currently representing you in Cheyenne and Washington were chosen by about one in four Wyomingites. The other three were home.
Think about what that means. Three out of four of us handed our voice to someone else and then wondered why things didn't go the way we wanted.
Now think about what the other direction looks like. A Wyoming where 60, 70, 80% of eligible voters participate in the primary isn't a Wyoming where any narrow faction can govern without accountability. It's a Wyoming where candidates have to earn broad support, where extreme positions get tested against the actual values of the people who live here, and where the results of an election genuinely reflect what Wyomingites want.
That Wyoming is possible. It just requires showing up.
Control of the state legislature, our congressional seat, county commissions, and local offices are all on this ballot. These aren't abstract positions. These are the people who decide water policy, public lands access, education funding, and what kind of Wyoming the next generation inherits.
7 days to change your registration. August 3 to register by mail. August 18 to vote, with same-day registration available at your polling place.
Wyoming has never needed its voters more than right now.
Show up.
