Our 6th Annual Back-to-School Event was an incredible success, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who helped make it possible. Year after year, this event continues to remind us what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose: showing up for our youth and helping them start the school year feeling prepared, supported, and encouraged.

We were honored to have Jae Foundation/Cowboy Cole, Paul’s Mountain/Advocacy for Literature, Learn to Play Sports, PEEPS, and Gear Up join us this year. Thank you for sharing your resources and information with our families and helping make the day even more meaningful.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen so many wonderful back-to-school events supporting our youth. While each event may look a little different, our purpose is the same. We believe there is more than enough room for all of us to do this work together, and we will always remain optimistic about the possibilities that come from collaboration. We want to make it clear that we have never been offered an invitation to collaborate, but should that opportunity ever arise, our door will always be open and we would gladly welcome it. At the end of the day, it’s about making sure our youth have the support and resources they deserve.

And, as always, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible sponsors who continue to believe in our mission and invest in our community. Your generosity, encouragement, and commitment are what help make this event possible. We are truly thankful for each and every one of you.

Six years in, and we are still incredibly grateful for the community that continues to show up. Here’s to another school year filled with opportunity, growth, and success for our youth. 🩵

EVENT GUIDELINES

HAIR
• All hair must be washed and brushed out for any and all hair services (this is for sanitation and health purposes)
• The child(ren) must be in line for all hair services
• ABSOLUTLY no cutting or place holding in lines (all parties will be sent to the back of the line)
• We won’t be accepting any hair services after 2pm

FOOD & BEVERAGES
• One food ticket per person for one food vendor
• No food or beverages inside the facility (WATER ONLY)

GENERAL
• All backpacks and hair services are for Kindergarten- 12th grade ONLY
• Adults need to have children present to get backpacks
• There’s a ZERO profanity tolerance
• One raffle ticket per child with a backpack
• Once everything has been completed inside, PLEASE EXIT THE BUILDING
• There will be food, beverages, and outside activities to enjoy
• No re-entry once you exit

We are officially three weeks away from the first day of school, and we are excited to celebrate the 6th Annual We Got Your Back Back-to-School Event on Sunday, August 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (location to be announced).

Important Volunteer Updates:

• There will be no youth volunteers during the event itself. Youth (Jr High & High School students) are welcome to assist with event setup and teardown ONLY for community service hours.
• The ONLY exception to youth volunteers (ages 13-17 only) is if they are attending with an adult volunteer. One youth per one adult.
• Volunteer opportunities are limited to 30 positions ONLY this year and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yesterday’s Easter supply handout was a great success. We are incredibly grateful to our generous sponsors who make events like this possible. Thank you to our community for your continued support, it truly means so much.

Easter is right around the corner, April 5! 🐣🌷 This year, we’re doing our Easter supply giveaway a little differently.

For one day only, parents/guardians can stop by Sunday, March 22 from 12–3 PM at The Presidential Barbershop (219 W Lincolnway) to pick up Easter supplies such as baskets, Easter grass, and more.

Please note:
• Parents/guardians only-no children will be allowed, no exceptions.
• First come, first served while supplies last.
• Ages: Newborn–12 years old.
• Limit: Up to 4 children per family.

Our amazing friend Skip Arnold has poured his heart into something truly special. When the YMCA announced it was closing, Skip didn’t see an ending—he saw a beginning. With passion, grit, and an unwavering belief in the power of keeping kids active, he worked tirelessly to build a sports program that gives our community’s youth a place to grow, move, and thrive.

Skip’s love for these kids and his determination to inspire them through teamwork, discipline, and fun has made a real difference. Because of his commitment, our youth didn’t lose an opportunity—they gained a powerful new one. This program is proof that when someone steps up for kids, the impact lasts far beyond the field.

Good Evening Cheyenne!

The 2nd annual We Got Your Back Christmas will be held at The Funky Monkey on Sunday December 21 from 10am-2pm.

Come out & celebrate the holiday season with free toys for all kids (ages newborn to 18), pictures with Santa, and free food.

Things to know:
- Child(ren) must be present to receive a toy
- All facility & event rules must be followed at all times
- The event will have adult volunteers only
