Our Wyoming State Officer Team had an amazing time at WLTI in D.C.! Throughout this week, we met new people, continued to build our soft skills, and advocated for CTE along with SkillsUSA.

On the first day, our officers were paired with officers from around the country to work with our national officers on building our soft skills and getting prepared to meet with our senators. After a long day in the classroom, everyone got on buses to start our exploration in Washington, D.C. During this time, we went to the Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, Washington Monument, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, finally ending at Thomas Jefferson’s Memorial to listen to a moving speech from some of our national officers.

On our second day, we had our statesmen interviews, and I would like to announce that every Wyoming State Officer got their Statesmen!! After our interviews, we got set loose to explore different museums in D.C. Our officer team went through the moving Holocaust Museum and the Interesting Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

On our last day in D.C., our state officer team visited our senators to advocate for funding for SkillsUSA and CTE! We then met up with everyone else to take the annual photo at Capitol Hill, after we got on the buses and went to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to watch the changing of the guard. After the shift change, we headed back to the hotel for our closing ceremony and to get packed up to head home!

Are YOU ready to lead?
This crew looked intimidating for about… one photo. After that, it was back to laughs and teamwork.
