In 2019, my world changed forever. I lost my son—a loss so profound it left me grasping for air, answers, and hope. In that darkest season, it was the veterans staying at a local hotel who became my unexpected lifeline. They weren’t just neighbors—they became brothers and sisters in grief, guiding me thr
ough sorrow with quiet strength, kindness, and deep understanding. Their presence helped me survive. Their resilience lit the path forward. And it was in that sacred space between loss and love that the seeds of Gaven’s House were planted. By 2021, I couldn’t shake the calling to build something more than gratitude—I wanted to build a safe haven. A place where veterans, seniors, and reentry citizens could experience dignity, stability, and belonging. In 2024, that dream took form when I officially registered Gaven’s House as a nonprofit in the state of Wyoming. Today, I carry my son’s name—and his spirit—into a mission that answers a painful truth: many of these heroes are not okay.

- Mental health and addiction support are nearly nonexistent.
- Housing is unaffordable—even for those who once wore the uniform.
- Isolation, illness, and instability are stealing years from our veterans long after their service ends. Many are in their 60s, 70s, even 80s—living without access to the care they desperately need. They’re navigating terminal illness, memory loss, PTSD, and poverty. And yet, they still stand strong. They still give what little they have to others. Gaven’s House exists because they deserve better. Better community. Better outcomes. This isn’t just a nonprofit—this is a promise:
