On Saturday August 15, Wyoming Catholic Ministries Foundation hosted the inaugural 1887 Society Mass. The celebration took place on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, patroness of the Diocese of Cheyenne. Mass was celebrated by Father Carl Gallinger at St. Patrick's Church in Casper.

This event was established to honor members of the 1887 Society—those who have chosen to support Catholic ministries in the Diocese of Cheyenne through leaving their legacy with the Church, designating gifts to Catholic ministries in their will and estate plans.
