Scouts BSA Troop 52 Welcomes Girls/Young Women
Do you have a daughter who loves the outdoors, enjoys being part of a team, and wants to hone her leadership skills and become a self-sufficient young woman?
Then, look no further as BSA Scout Troop 52 may be the right fit.
Troop 52 is proud to be one of the oldest continuously-running troops in America. It also has also had a strong, coed Venturing Crew for more than 20 years. Its current all-female Venturing Crew is eager to lead and mentor incoming girls and young women (ages 11-17) beginning February 1, 2019.
Troop 52 is unique in that young men and women, while in separate troops, have opportunities to develop scout skills while learning and working together, building friendships, and helping to enrich each other’s strengths. It truly is a win-win situation to see our young men and women develop the skills for collaborating and working together. Our “family scouting” provides a single unit where all members of the family (young men and women) can develop skills and values-based leadership.
The troop meets at All Saints Episcopal Church located at 3 Chevy Chase Circle on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m.
We will be hosting an informational meeting for interested girls/young women on Monday, February 4, at 7:30 PM.
Potential scouts will have an opportunity to see how the troop operates, meet the young women from the Venturing Crew and learn about Scouts BSA. Parents will be able to talk with the current Scoutmaster and staff of Troop 52, in addition to the future Scoutmaster of the girl’s troop.
For more information and/or to let us know you’d like to come to our interest meeting in January, email [email protected].
