Our Mission - National Tiger Sanctuary is a non-profit rescue organization that provides lifelong care and a permanent home for rescued exotic and domestic animals. Through education, conservation awareness, and meaningful experiences, we inspire a deeper appreciation for wildlife and the natural world.

Our Guiding Philosophy - The goal of a sanctuary isn't to keep animals from the wild—it's to provide rescued animals that cannot safely return to the wild with the highest possible quality of life for the remainder of their lives.

Every decision we make is guided by one simple principle: doing what is in the best interest of each individual animal.

Our Purpose - At National Tiger Sanctuary, we provide rescued animals with a permanent home while inspiring people to better understand wildlife, conservation, and responsible animal care.

Founded on the belief that every animal deserves dignity and respect, we strive to enrich the lives of the animals entrusted to us while encouraging future generations to appreciate and protect the natural world.

Looks like Truman was enjoying a relaxing day in the pool… until Lily came along!

Apparently, playtime was more important than pool time!

Just another fun moment between these two at National Tiger Sanctuary!

Well, GOOD MORNING! I see you're awake!
Now, the important question is... it is time for breakfast?"

Our gorgeous white tiger Bashir is starting the morning with a look that seems to say he's ready to see what the day has in store!

Bashir is quite the curious fellow, always interested in what's happening around his habitat. Whether he's watching the keepers, investigating something new, or just showing off that handsome face, he certainly knows how to capture everyone's attention!

FUN TIGER FACT: Did you know that tigers have special white spots on the backs of their ears? These markings are called ocelli and are thought to help tigers communicate with one another, especially when moving through tall grass or dense vegetation.

Will you take a moment to say GOOD MORNING to Bashir?
Let's see how many friends will greet this handsome boy today!

GOOD AFTERNOON from Afton at National Tiger Sanctuary!

AAAAHHHH... Is it naptime yet?!

Our handsome lion Afton has a BIG yawn to share with everyone this afternoon! Just look at those impressive teeth and that enormous tongue!

Even the most majestic of lions need a little downtime!
After all, being this handsome must be exhausting!

FUN LION FACT: Lions can spend 16–20 hours a day resting and sleeping to conserve energy. Now THAT is a lifestyle Afton can appreciate!

Who else could use a nice afternoon nap? Give us a smile in the comments if Afton has you yawning, too!
