Over the past eight months, the Board of Directors of United Way of Kent County has undertaken a thoughtful review of how we can best serve the residents today and into the future.
As a result, we have made several important changes designed to strengthen our impact and ensure the long-term sustainability of our organization. We have transitioned to a virtual office model, moved to a part-time Executive Director structure, and most importantly, adopted a new three-year strategic focus centered on food security and food access.
This new effort, the Full Table Initiative, reflects our belief that access to nutritious food is foundational to the health and well-being of individuals, families, and our community as a whole.
While this initiative represents a focused strategic investment, United Way of Kent County will continue its traditional community allocations process, providing support to local nonprofit organizations that deliver essential services to our neighbors.
We are excited about this new chapter and look forward to working alongside our partners, supporters, and community members.
Additional information, including the applications for the Full Table Initiative, our traditional allocation application, our new strategic direction, and more, are on our newly redesigned website.
