Firefighter Russell Fletcher Wilding, 60
Chesterton Fire Department. Chesterton, IN
Firefighter Wilding died after suffering a heart attack while on duty. He was stricken while helping clean equipment following a minor fire call in the Tremont area. Strenuous life saving efforts by other firefighters and NOPAC personnel failed to revive Casey.

Every year, the Local 4600 members look forward to donating to an organization that helps to bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s economically disadvantaged children

Firefighters in northwest Indiana responded to a bizarre rescue call on the roof of a home in Chesterton. Not only did they save the day, they went way above the call of duty to clean up a mess.

Chesterton Firefighters Local 4600 members rescued a woman who feel down a dune at Indiana Dunes State Park last week. Crews utilized special rescue equipment to reach the patient and successfully bring her to safety.

Outstanding work by these Local 4600 members — your courage and specialized training are making a difference in protecting the citizens of Chesterton!

Today 8 members of Chesterton firefighters local 4600 golfed in Valparaiso to support thier Union. Weather was supposed to be a bit rainy and cloudy. Turned out no rain and blue skies!
