Join us Saturday, August 8, for an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to Creekside Collaborative, one of Northeast Ohio's most innovative conservation partnerships. View native plant species and learn what they can do for your yard, taste a variety of herbs and vegetables and harvest your favorites to take home with you, view the native tree nursery that provides ecological restoration across Northeast Ohio.

This isn't just a farm. It's a 16-acre living laboratory where native trees are grown to restore ecosystems, sustainable agriculture connects people to healthy food, and environmental organizations are redefining what conservation looks like for future generations.

Who's ready to get their feet wet and their hands dirty?

This summer, ditch the pool and dive into your local creek with the Geauga Stream Team! We're on a mission to uncover the cool critters living in our streams - think crayfish, dragonflies, water pennies, and caddisflies. You'll be a real-life scientist, collecting official data for the Ohio Division of Natural Resources Scenic Rivers program using cool tools like kick seine nets and water chemistry kits.
All ages welcome! Free to particitate. Join us for one outing or for all!

Ten hearty folks braved the mosquitos July 9 to participate in our annual bat count at South Newbury Union Chapel, and we are pleased to report a slight increase in the number of bats over last year — yay! As I've said before, it will take a long time for the bats to rebuild their population, and there will be ups and downs along the way, but this is a good start. Here is an historical chart of counts from the bat condo including our 2026 results. -Naturalist Linda
